Alienware M15 R4 (2021)
Following the Alienware M15 R3, which earned a warm reception from industry experts, Dell has unveiled the Alienware M15 R4 at the ongoing CES 2021 event. The M15 R4 brings significant hardware upgrades and promises a gaming experience that meets the standard of the new generation.
On the spec sheet, the M15 R4 still centers on two Comet Lake-H and HK options, the i7-10870H and i9-10980HK, along with RAM options from 8GB to 32GB and SSD upgrades of up to 4TB NVMe (with a RAID 0 option available). The difference this time is that the graphics card options now include the RTX 3000 Mobile, which NVIDIA also covered in its keynote early this morning. The Alienware M15 R4 will also be one of more than 70 RTX 3000 laptops hitting shelves this January.
Alienware M15 R4 Cooling
To meet its cooling needs, Dell will continue to equip the Alienware M15 R4 with a vapor chamber cooling system, the feature that helped the M15 R3 win praise when it first launched. The company will also use a 6-phase VRM for the CPU and a 12-phase VRM for the GPU to ensure efficient power delivery.
As for the display, the Alienware M15 R4 will again offer two options: FHD and 4K OLED. The OLED option supports HDR500, a 1ms response time, 400 nits of brightness, and 100% DCI-P3. The Alienware M15 R4 is expected to go on sale on January 26 with a starting price of 2149 USD.
