Following the Alienware M15 R3, which has been receiving great acclaim from experts, Dell has unveiled the Alienware M15 R4 version at the ongoing CES 2021 event. With the M15 R4, we will see significant hardware upgrades, promising to deliver a true next-generation gaming experience.

Regarding configuration, the M15 R4 will continue to center around two Comet Lake-H and HK options: i7-10870H and i9-10980HK, along with RAM options ranging from 8GB to 32GB and the ability to upgrade SSD up to 4TB NVMe (with RAID 0 option available). The key difference is that this time, the graphics card for this series will include the RTX 3000 Mobile option – a factor also mentioned by NVIDIA in this morning’s keynote. The Alienware M15 R4 will be one of over 70 RTX 3000 laptops hitting the shelves this January.

Alienware M15 R4 Cooling System

To meet cooling demands, Dell will continue to equip the Alienware M15 R4 with vapor chamber cooling – the feature that helped the M15 R3 score high marks upon its release. The manufacturer will also equip it with a 6-phase VRM for the CPU and 12-phase for the GPU to ensure efficiency.

Regarding the display, the Alienware M15 R4 will still offer two options: FHD and 4K OLED. The OLED option will support HDR500, a 1ms response time, 400 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3. The Alienware M15 R4 is expected to go on sale starting January 26th with a starting price of $2,149.
