Alienware Aurora R15 Design

You cannot mistake the Alienware Aurora R15 for any other desktop computer currently. The machine features a large tower design with curved sides – measuring 589 x 225 x 510 inches (LxWxH) and weighing approximately 17.24 kg – it wouldn’t be out of place on the set of any science fiction show. As Dell introduced the “Legend 2.0” design in late 2021 with the Alienware Aurora R13, the Aurora 15 continues into 2023 with most of the design unchanged, except for technological upgrades.

And of course, you can customize the RGB lighting. The Alienware Aurora R15 features up to 8 independent RGB lighting zones, which can be calibrated in the AlienFX section of the Alienware Command Center app. Overall, the Alienware Aurora R15 provides you with a small, compact, unique, and highly colorful PC. If you are an RGB FAN, it might be the perfect choice at first glance.

Connectivity and Upgradability

The rich connectivity of the Alienware Aurora R15 begins with the front panel, which includes a headphone jack (headphone/microphone), 3 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) ports, and 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port.

At the rear, the Alienware Aurora R15 Motherboard I/O panel contains 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, 4 USB 2.0 Legacy ports (the bottom 2 support smart power-on), 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps), and a Killer E3100 2.5Gbps Ethernet jack, along with surround sound and S/PDIF jacks.

Naturally, antenna jacks for the wireless card are also present on this machine, the Killer AX1675x, which supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. However, objectively speaking, wireless connectivity would be better if the antennas were integrated directly into the chassis.

The GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card at the back has one HDMI video output and three DisplayPort outputs.

Looking at the bottom, the bottom-mounted power supply of the Alienware Aurora R15 helps prevent dangling power cables. However, we must note: do not lose the power cable that comes with this PC, as it cannot be replaced by any third-party power cable.

The Alienware Cryo-Tech CPU liquid cooler seen here features two lighting zones and a 240mm RAD radiator mounted on top with two 120mm fans. You will also find two 120mm intake fans at the front and one 120mm exhaust fan at the rear. The machine will be slightly noisy when playing games at high performance.
