The Precision 7510 belongs to Dell’s new generation of mobile workstations and serves as the successor to the previous M4800. The product features a slim and lightweight design, multiple powerful configuration options, and numerous improvements to meet user needs.

Dell Precision 7510 Performance

Dell Precision is equipped with a powerful configuration featuring the H-series i7-6820HQ chip, 8GB/16GB RAM options, and 256GB/512GB SSD storage. With such a configuration, this laptop can easily handle heavy tasks like graphics or gaming.

The Dell Precision 7510 is equipped with Quadro M1000M/M2000M graphics cards optimized for professional applications such as graphics, architecture, 3D modeling, or video editing. These applications require not only high computing power from the processor and graphics card but, more importantly, stability and durability to operate continuously for long periods.

Design

Overall, the Dell Precision 7510 features a minimalist design with rounded edges that provide a soft feel while still exuding an elegant look that attracts users. Holding this machine in your hands, you can truly feel its luxury and sturdiness. It has passed durability tests and achieved US military MIL-STD 810G standards.

Although the chassis is made of plastic, the top cover is finished with a carbon fiber pattern. The surface feels very pleasant and smooth to the touch, even more comfortable than the soft-touch coating on ThinkPads. In the center is a shiny chrome-plated Dell logo.

Connectivity

Most connectivity ports are located on the two sides. The left side has 1 HDMI port, 1 Mini-DisplayPort, and 1 USB 3.0 port. The right side features 1 SD card slot, 1 3.5mm audio jack with mic, and up to 3 USB 3.0 ports. The 4 USB ports on this machine allow us to charge other devices.

The rear features a 180W power charging port on the right edge, 1 RJ45 network port, and 2 ventilation slots. The power and charging indicator lights are located on the front edge. The back design is quite simple, featuring a docking station slot, and notably, the speaker system—which was located above the keyboard in the previous generation—has now been moved to the bottom.

Keyboard

Opening the laptop, we can easily notice that the keyboard system has been redesigned compared to previous generations. It has transitioned to a chiclet-style keyboard with spill-resistant capabilities. The keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience with good tactile feedback and very fast response. When the keyboard backlight is turned on at night, the blue keys stand out against the white background, looking very impressive. As for the touchpad, it responds well to user gestures, is large in size, and has a smooth feel due to low friction, helping the cursor move accurately. However, the two left and right mouse buttons are separate, which prevents a seamless overall product feel.

Battery

Based on testing with mixed usage—web browsing, listening to music, and Photoshop—the machine has a battery life of up to 3 hours. This is considered an acceptable figure given its high-performance configuration. Additionally, the battery life can be extended using a specialized docking station placed under the base.
