Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 is a premium laptop with strong battery life, stable performance, and a lightweight build, making it an excellent choice for business users who are constantly on the move and need to work through long business trips.

Durable design with a refined, premium look.

Overall, the X1 Carbon Gen 7 does not differ too much from the Gen 6 version. It features an attractive design, with a magnesium alloy chassis finished in a smooth matte coating that feels comfortable to the touch. The X1 Carbon Gen 7 is also exceptionally light at just 1.08kg, so it is easy to slip into a suitcase or carry in a bag, making it well suited for flexible workstyles or long trips.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 continues to use the flexible yet sturdy dual-hinge system found on previous generations, but this hinge assembly is now finished entirely in black for a more cohesive look. Next to it is an auxiliary speaker strip that helps deliver a more immersive audio experience for users. The display bezels remain one of the signature highlights of the X1 Carbon line, with a slim, elegantly refined profile.

A display with wide color coverage and high brightness, ready for both work and entertainment

With its 14 inch size, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 is well suited to users' work and entertainment needs. The laptop is equipped with a Full HD display, with a solid brightness level of 300 nits, making it usable in challenging lighting conditions such as outdoors. In addition, its color coverage is quite wide, reaching up to 90% sRGB, so users can also use it for basic design work and photo editing. With the Full HD resolution, the laptop also offers another option with special anti-peeping capability to provide users with greater privacy.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard on the X1 Carbon Gen 7 has a design similar to the previous version. However, the key travel is shallower at just 1.5mm, yet it still does not compromise the typing experience, offering high rebound and keeping noise levels low during use.

The touchpad is moderately sized, with a smooth glass surface that delivers a fluid, responsive glide and resists fingerprints from sweaty hands. ThinkPad touchpads are always equipped with Windows Precision Driver, delivering accurate, sensitive control for every gesture. The left and right click buttons provide strong feedback and bounce. The TrackPoint still offers precise movement and a comfortable feel.

Powerful performance inside a thin and light body

The standout feature of this laptop is its processor. It comes in 2 configurations for users to choose from: Core i5 - 8265U, ram 8GB and Core i7 - 8665 16GB. Integrated intel UHD Graphics 620 delivers very smooth, efficient, and fluid handling of tasks, with strong performance in programs that take advantage of multiple cores and multiple processing threads. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB PCI Express NVMe SSD. For everyday basic office needs, the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 can handle tasks with ease and without any obstacles. Users can also play lighter game titles such as Liên minh Huyền thoại and CS:GO at medium graphics settings, or use Photoshop and Lightroom for basic photo editing.

The Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 is equipped with 2 impressive security options, including facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor on the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 uses an extremely advanced dTPM 2.0 chip, enabling fast and highly accurate unlocking.

With a 51Wh battery, the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 can confidently deliver 5 - 7 hours of continuous use for basic everyday tasks.

Ports

The Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 is equipped with a relatively complete selection of ports. Despite its thin and light size, the manufacturer has not cut back on essential connectivity. On the left side of the laptop are 2 USB Type C ports supporting Thunderbolt 3, 1 proprietary Lenovo Ethernet port, 1 USB Type A 3.1 port, 1 HDMI port, and 1 3.5mm headphone jack. The right side of the laptop is equipped with 1 USB Type A 3.1 port. It is truly surprising that such a thin and light laptop still comes with such a complete port system.
