Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable is a high-quality hybrid tablet. Its strengths include an impressive 13-inch display, high-speed performance, a comfortable detachable keyboard with a dedicated stylus pen storage slot, many useful security features, and class-leading webcam quality. All these features are packed within a sleek, highly portable metal chassis.

Design of Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable

The Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable is a 13-inch metal device with an aluminum back equipped with a kickstand. As a result, it has a similar appearance to other devices in its segment, such as the Surface Pro 8 and Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable. In addition to the design strengths borrowed from its competitors, Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable also features new improvements to differentiate itself from these models.

These notable improvements include a fingerprint security sensor neatly placed on the back of the device, located at the top right corner. The device features quite thin bezels, providing an immersive visual experience for users. My favorite feature of this device is the pen storage slot located on the side of the detachable keyboard. Using a mechanism similar to the Surface Pro X, the Latitude's stylus is tucked neatly inside the slot at the back of the keyboard.

Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable possesses a larger screen size compared to its competitors, yet it maintains a similar overall footprint. With dimensions of 11.4 x 8.2 x 0.3 inches and a weight of 0.81 kg (1.18 kg when attached to the keyboard), its overall size is comparable to the Lenovo X12 Detachable (11.2 x 8 x 0.3 inches, weighing 0.77 kg) and the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 (11.3 x 8.2 x 0.7 inches, weighing 0.891 kg).

Security and Durability

The Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable comes with a wide array of security features. Not only is it equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the back, but it also features an IR webcam that allows users to unlock the device via facial recognition.

Another security feature worth mentioning is the security slot located at the bottom corner to prevent the tablet from being stolen when unattended. All versions of the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable are equipped with a vPro chip, providing remote management capabilities. Hidden beneath the chassis is a TPM 2.0 chip, which ensures that all incoming and outgoing data from the Latitude is securely encrypted.

Connectivity of Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable

The Latitude 7320 is equipped with connectivity ports similar to the X12 Detachable, but these ports are distributed on both sides of the device, allowing users to charge the battery from either side.

The right side of the chassis features a Thunderbolt 4 port in the center and a SIM card slot. On the left side is a second Thunderbolt port and a security slot. At the top is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, sandwiched between the volume buttons.

Display of Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable

The Latitude 7320 Detachable is equipped with a 13-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels, using an IPS panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The screen size is larger than the Surface Pro 7 and ThinkPad X12. Covering 92.2% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the Latitude 7320's display offers more vibrant image quality compared to the ThinkPad X12 Detachable (75%) and the Surface Pro 8 (76%). Its color reproduction is also more impressive than the average for high-end laptops (85%).

The screen also features good brightness, with a measured peak brightness of 500 nits, making it more brilliant compared to the Surface Pro 8 (450 nits) and the ThinkPad X12 Detachable (400 nits).

Detachable Keyboard and Touchpad

Learning from the Type Cover detachable keyboard of the Surface Pro series, the Latitude's keyboard has good key travel, allowing my fingers to dance from one character to another while writing this review. The keyboard is illuminated by a white backlight system with two different brightness levels.

The touchpad located below, unfortunately, does not offer as good an experience. The touchpad has a smooth surface, but the usable area is somewhat small, which may pose a challenge for those with large fingers when navigating with various gestures.

Audio

The device is equipped with a dual-speaker system located on both sides of the tablet, providing sufficient volume and quite good sound quality for various music genres.

Battery Life

The Latitude 7320 Detachable has quite good battery life. The device lasted 9 hours 18 minutes in our battery life test, specifically after continuous web browsing via Wi-Fi with a screen brightness of 150 nits.

The Dell laptop has a longer runtime than the Surface Pro 8 (9 hours 6 minutes) but shuts down several hours earlier than the ThinkPad X12 Detachable (11 hours 1 minute).
