Design

True to its “business laptop” name, the Dell XPS 13 7390 features a thin, lightweight, extremely luxurious, and elegant design. The chassis is made entirely of metal, creating a sense of sturdiness without sacrificing sophistication. With a thickness of just over 1 cm and a weight of only 1.3kg, this laptop is suitable for anyone with high mobility needs, yet still possesses enough power to satisfy most user requirements.

A special feature of this Dell XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 is its ability to switch between multiple modes. Users can completely fold the laptop into a tablet or prop it up in a tent mode. The transition between modes is incredibly smooth and does not significantly affect the center hinge.

Display

The DELL XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 features a 13.4-inch display with a new 16:10 aspect ratio, making the screen slightly taller than most other ultrabooks using the traditional 16:9 ratio, including its predecessor, the Dell XPS 9365 2-in-1. Dell has also applied new anti-glare technology, allowing the screen to display exceptionally well in high-brightness environments where reflections are very low.

The DELL XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 is equipped with a Full HD screen, supporting HDR and reaching brightness levels of over 500 nits. Regarding color gamut, the device achieves 100% sRGB, 76% AdobeRGB, and 81% DCI-P3. Dell Cinema technology also enhances the video viewing experience by supporting HDR with Netflix, VUDU, and the Microsoft Movies & TV app. The Dell XPS 7390 2-in-1 is ideal for image-related tasks and semi-professional video editing.

Performance

With the new 2-in-1 version, Dell has significantly upgraded the DELL XPS 13 7390 compared to its predecessor, the XPS 9365, by equipping it with the latest generation processors from Intel. The version available at Hung Phat is the one with the most powerful processor – Intel Core i7 1065G7. With a short-term boost clock of up to 3.9 GHz and a base clock of 1.3 GHz, the performance of the new Dell 2-in-1 officially beats the previous Core U generation, represented by the Intel Core i7 – 8565U, in both single-core and multi-core Geekbench tests.

The new integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics performance is stronger than the Intel UHD 620 generation and is not far behind the NVIDIA GeForce MX150. While this does not turn the new Dell Ultrabook into a gaming laptop, Iris Plus truly provides a significant advantage for Dell’s candidate when compared to many competitors in the same segment that are still using Intel UHD graphics.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Dell chose to use the MagLev keyboard, similar to the XPS 15 9575, for a typing experience that is completely different from the traditional XPS 13 line. The key travel is shallower and the feedback is firmer than most current Ultrabook models, but it offers high tactile response and bounce. MagLev technology uses magnets to enhance consistency, durability, and key response without needing deeper key travel. If you have ever used the keyboard of the XPS 15 9575 or an Apple MacBook Air, the typing experience on the XPS 13 7390 will feel very similar.

The touchpad measures 11.3 x 6.8 cm, which is larger than the XPS 13 9365 2-in-1 (10.5 x 6 cm) and the XPS 13 9380 (10.5 x 5 cm) versions. When moving the cursor across the touchpad surface, whether fast or slow, it feels smooth without any sticking, lagging, or cursor jumping.

Cooling

Regarding cooling, despite its small size, the machine features a cooling system with 2 fans. This can be considered one of the most valuable upgrades to ensure stable performance, especially when compared to its predecessor, the XPS 9365—an Ultrabook that had no cooling fans at all.

The cooling system, combined with the premium chassis, keeps the machine cool even when running heavy tasks, with fan noise that is almost inaudible.
