It is predicted that Team Red will launch the Radeon RX 8000 graphics card series next year featuring the new RDNA 4 architecture.
While some leaks have provided an initial glimpse into the next-generation GPUs, a new listing on a benchmark website has revealed some key specifications of what could be a flagship RDNA 4 graphics card.
The GPU appeared on Geekbench with the device identifier GFX1201, suggesting this could be an RDNA 4 SKU. For reference, RDNA 3 desktop graphics cards use the GFX11XX identifier, while RDNA 3.5 SKUs are designated as GFX115X. Similarly, RDNA 2 cards use the GFX103X code, and RDNA 1 GPUs are GFX101X.
The device identifier indicates the listed graphics card features a Navi 48 GPU, which is expected to power the flagship RX 8000 series cards next year. Geekbench lists it with 28 compute units, which could indicate 56 CUs and 3,584 stream processors if AMD maintains the RDNA 3 configuration with two compute processors per shader engine.

The listing also indicates an RDNA 4 GPU clock speed of 2,101MHz, significantly lower than the 2.5GHz-2.6GHz boost speeds of current RDNA 3 GPUs. In reality, RDNA 4 cards are expected to offer higher frequencies compared to RDNA 3 versions as they will utilize more modern process technology and a fresh architecture.
Finally, the Radeon RX 8000 graphics card is listed with 16GB of memory, equivalent to the VRAM capacity on the RX 7800 XT and RX 7900 GRE. The listing does not mention the memory speed or type, but rumors suggest it may be equipped with GDDR6.
Notably, Geekbench has listed several instances of the Radeon RX 8000, and none of the scores are particularly impressive. The highest OpenCL score is 33,241, which is lower than GTX 1650 figures and much lower than the RX 7900XTX score. These underwhelming benchmarks suggest this could be a very early engineering sample, meaning it is still under development. Regardless, AMD still has much to refine before the next-generation cards are ready for launch.
