The Omen Transcend 16 is HP‘s first Gaming Laptop to feature a mini-LED display option.

CPU options for the Omen Transcend 16 include the Intel Core i9-13900HX with 24 cores and 32 threads at a max speed of 5.4GHz, as well as an currently unspecified Intel Core i7 model that may be introduced later. The maximum supported RAM capacity is 32GB DDR5 5600MHz. Regarding storage, the machine only supports a single M.2 slot with a maximum option of a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Due to the thinner chassis, the HP Omen Transcend 16 can only be equipped with up to an RTX 4070 graphics card with a 130W TGP power consumption. For budget-conscious customers, HP also offers lower graphics options such as the RTX 4060 and RTX 4050.

The 16-inch mini-LED display option comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a peak brightness of 1180 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, there is an IPS panel with 1600p resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. A budget-friendly option is also listed by HP as an FHD+ resolution display with a 165 Hz refresh rate.

Connectivity includes 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB-A 3.2 port for data transfer, 1 USB-A 3.2 port with charging capability, an HDMI 2.1 video output port, and a combo audio jack. Integrated wireless connectivity includes Intel Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3. Some product images also show additional ports on the back, including an Ethernet jack and two additional USB-A ports. A miniSD card reader can also be seen in the images released by the manufacturer.

Although the specific dimensions of the Transcend 16 chassis have not been provided by HP, with a weight of 2.1kg (4.6 lbs), the HP Omen Transcend 16 can be considered the thinnest and lightest 16-inch Gaming Laptop to date. Color options available to customers are Shadow Black and Ceramic White. The battery included with this 16-inch Omen Transcend Gaming Laptop model has a capacity of 97 Wh for the RTX 4070 configuration; customers can also opt for a lower capacity 70 Wh battery for the base configurations.

This 16-inch Gaming Laptop will be released by HP in “early spring,” around April. The starting price will be $1,669.99. Notably, based on the “Transcend-Intel” phrase mentioned in the web address, we can expect the HP Omen Transcend 16 series to appear with AMD configurations in the near future.
