On August 01, 2023, Intel quietly released two new graphics card products, the Arc A570M and Arc A530M, which are aimed at the mainstream laptop market. These two new graphics cards will supplement Intel’s existing graphics card lineup from the A770M to the A350M, forming a complete product range.
Based on technical specifications and the timing of the release, there were several speculations that the Arc A570M and A550M graphics cards might use the upgraded Alchemist+ GPU core; however, that is not the case.
Combining device IDs and driver files shows that both the A570M and A550M graphics cards use the ACM-G12 GPU core (also known as DG2-G12 / DG2-256 / SOC3). This same GPU core is also used in the professional Arc Pro A60 / A60M graphics cards released in June 2023.
The current Intel Arc A series graphics cards feature three different GPU cores. The A700/A700M and A550M series both use the large ACM-G10/DG2-G10/DG2-512/SOC1 core, with an area of 406 mm², 21.7 billion transistors, 32 Xe cores, and a 256-bit memory interface.
The A300/A300M and A30M series use the smaller ACM-G11/DG2-G11/DG2-128/SOC2 core, with an area of 157mm², 7.2 billion transistors, 8 Xe cores, and a 96-bit memory interface.
Currently, the size of the ACM-G12 GPU core has not been officially announced, but it can be confirmed that it has up to 16 Xe cores, and the memory interface may be 128-bit; official technical specifications have not yet been released.
The main specifications of the A570M and A550M are similar, both featuring 16 Xe cores and potentially using 8GB GDDR6 memory; however, they use different GPU cores, with the A570M having higher frequency and power consumption.
The memory configuration specifications of the ACM-G12 GPU core in the Intel Arc A series have not been officially announced; however, it is speculated that it could use 8GB of memory with a 128-bit interface, or be reduced to 6GB with a 96-bit memory interface.
Information from driver version 31.0.101.4577, released by Intel alongside the two new Arc A570M and Arc A530M graphics cards, indicates that the two cards are ready to be delivered to OEM laptop manufacturers.
There are currently some rumors online suggesting that Intel will launch an upgraded Alchemist+ GPU core version in mid-2023, before the launch of the second generation, Battlemage. However, this information has not been officially confirmed by Intel, and more than half of this year has already passed.
In the desktop market, Intel’s current graphics card product line includes the A770 16/8GB, A750, A380, and A310. There are still some gaps between these product lines, specifically the mid-range A500 series, which includes previously rumored versions such as the A580 and Pro A580, which may use the ACM-G12 GPU core. It appears that Intel is waiting for the launch of Alchemist+.
