Windows users should be cautious before installing the latest updates from January 2025, as a number of serious bugs have surfaced. Most reports involve USB DAC drivers, but other devices such as headsets and webcams are affected too. Although the problems are not limited to Windows 11 24H2, they may add to the controversy surrounding the newest version of Microsoft's operating system.
Windows users run into serious bugs after the new updates
Recent mandatory patches for Windows 10 and Windows 11 have caused a string of problems with USB connections, Bluetooth devices and several other features. Affected users may want to consider rolling back to the previous version. If you haven't updated yet, it's best to hold off on installing to avoid disrupting your system.
Microsoft released the following updates earlier this month:
- KB5049981 for Windows 10
- KB5050009 for Windows 11 24H2
- KB5050021 for earlier versions of Windows 11
Although these are routine security updates, Windows Latest reports that KB5050021 includes a minor change to the date and time settings.

Windows 11 24H2 has had plenty of problems since launch
Since Microsoft rolled out Windows 11 24H2 late last year, users have repeatedly complained about serious bugs, including:
