Razer has officially announced two new accessories for laptop and mobile device users: the Thunderbolt 5 dock and the Core X V2 external graphics card enclosure. These are advanced graphics performance expansion solutions, helping mobile devices achieve near-desktop power to meet the demands of gaming, professional graphics, and multitasking.

Thunderbolt 5 Dock: The Next-Generation Connection Standard

The first accessory is the Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock, equipped with the latest Thunderbolt 5 connection standard featuring up to 80 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth, and even reaching 120 Gbps upstream in Boost Mode. Compared to Thunderbolt 4 or USB4, data transfer speeds have been significantly improved, completely eliminating bandwidth bottlenecks when connecting to high-speed devices.

Additionally, this dock supports video output via DisplayPort 2.1, capable of running up to three 4K/144Hz monitors or one 8K/60Hz monitor simultaneously, serving both work and entertainment needs. The Thunderbolt 5 Dock also integrates an M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot for external SSDs up to 8TB, with data transfer speeds near 15 GB/s, while providing 140W Power Delivery fast charging for laptops via the main connection port.

Another convenient feature is Thunderbolt Share technology, which allows users to switch and share peripherals between two computers with just one button, making it ideal for multitasking office users.

Core X V2: A Powerful eGPU Enclosure

Also launching this time is the Razer Core X V2, an eGPU enclosure compatible with Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, and USB4. This device supports the latest desktop graphics card lines such as the Nvidia RTX 50 series or AMD Radeon RX 9000 series (up to 4 slots), bringing near-desktop graphics processing power to laptops or handheld gaming devices.

Core X V2: A Powerful Egpu Enclosure

The Razer Core X V2 features a 120mm active cooling fan with variable speed control, ensuring stable performance even when running high-power GPUs. However, the device does not include an ATX power supply; users will need to purchase a separate power supply unit with a capacity suitable for their GPU.

The product targets professional gamers, content creators, and specialized users who need mobile graphics power but still want to use standard desktop graphics cards.

Flexible Performance Expansion Solutions for Mobile Devices

With the combo of the Thunderbolt 5 dock and the Core X V2 eGPU, laptop or modern mobile device users can easily expand their hardware power without investing in a new PC setup. This duo supports a single-cable connection while simultaneously handling device charging, multi-monitor video output, and high-speed data transfer, resulting in a cleaner workspace or entertainment setup.

That said, users should note that the product prices are quite high (Thunderbolt 5 dock from 389.99 USD, Core X V2 eGPU from 349.99 USD, excluding the power supply), and eGPU performance still depends on the connection speed of the dock.

In summary, Razer’s two new products promise to be notable choices for those who want to maximize their mobile devices while still requiring desktop-class graphics performance.
