Windows 11 25H2 Ra Mắt Năm 2025 Nâng Cấp Nhẹ, Windows 12 Vẫn Chưa Xuất Hiện

Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows 11 25H2 update will be released in the second half of 2025, coinciding with the end of support for Windows 10, while simultaneously debunking rumors of an early Windows 12 launch. Currently, 25H2 is available as an Insider Preview and is expected to be rolled out widely via a fast update method that does not require a full operating system reinstallation.

Windows 11 25H2: Lightweight Update, Extended Support

The 25H2 version will share the same servicing stack as 24H2, allowing the update process to be completed quickly in just a few minutes, similar to a standard cumulative update. Users only need to restart their machines to finish, ensuring no disruption to work. This is made possible by the Enablement Package mechanism, which activates new features already present without needing to reinstall the operating system.

Regarding support, the 25H2 version will extend the lifecycle to 35 months for Enterprise/Education editions and 24 months for Consumer/Pro editions, aligning with long-term device maintenance plans, especially in enterprise and educational environments.

Windows 11 25H2 Launch In 2025 - Lightweight Upgrade, Windows 12 Has Not Yet Appeared

Why hasn’t Windows 12 appeared in 2025?

Microsoft is in no rush to release Windows 12 due to the declining number of Windows users and the ongoing difficulty in convincing Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11. Instead, the company is focusing on perfecting Windows 11 through regular updates, optimizing performance and security, while gradually adding new features to the existing platform to avoid user fragmentation.

Some new features will be developed and added gradually to both 24H2 and 25H2, but will only be pre-activated on 25H2 once finalized, allowing users to experience them early without waiting for a major release.

Practical benefits of upgrading to Windows 11 25H2

  • Time-saving: The update process takes only a few minutes and does not require a full OS reinstallation.
  • Guaranteed security: Using a shared servicing stack helps synchronize security patches and features for both 24H2 and 25H2.
  • Long-term support: Helps individual and business users plan device upgrades easily.
  • Reduced fragmentation risk: As patches and features are updated simultaneously across the latest versions.

Limitations to note

Currently, the 25H2 version does not bring many standout new features compared to 24H2. Important improvements will be added gradually in the coming time. Additionally, some promotional information regarding the speed of Windows 11 compared to Windows 10 still requires further verification, as the performance measurement methods have not been clearly disclosed.

Summary: Windows 11 25H2 is a necessary upgrade, focusing on optimizing experience, security, and extending support time, while maintaining stability before Microsoft releases Windows 12 in the future. The lightweight update, which is time-efficient and requires no OS reinstallation, helps individual and business users keep their devices secure, operating stably, and saving unnecessary hardware upgrade costs.
