AMD Strix Halo heading to desktop: An opportunity for mini PCs without discrete GPUs
In a recent interview, AMD CEO Lisa Su caught attention by confirming that Strix Halo, the high-end APU processor series originally designed for laptops, will soon be brought to the desktop platform. This news is exciting for the tech community, as Strix Halo features not only a powerful CPU but also an exceptional integrated GPU, capable of competing with many entry-level discrete graphics cards.
Strix Halo represents a breakthrough for AMD, featuring up to 40 Compute Units for its integrated GPU, allowing it to achieve performance nearly equivalent to entry-level discrete GPUs.
