Yet another laptop equipped with an OLED screen at an accessible price point. Xiaomi has just unveiled two Book Pro models in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes for the 2022 version, featuring a thin and light design with little change from the 2021 Book Pro configuration, still carrying the design language echoes of the MacBook Pro and Air 13-inch from Apple.
First is the 14-inch Xiaomi Book Pro. It will come with two 12th Gen Intel CPU options, Core i5-1240P or Core i7-1260P, both configurations paired with 16GB DDR5-5200 internal memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Regarding GPU options, the Book Pro 14 is equipped with Nvidia Geforce MX550 2GB or RTX 2050 4GB VRAM.
Returning to the OLED screen. The 2022 Book Pro 14 features an E4 OLED panel with 2880×1800 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 242 PPI pixel density, a 90Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness, VESA Display HDR 500 certification, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Xiaomi advertises this screen covers 89.54% of the device body, with 3.6mm bezels.
This 1.5 kg laptop features a 56 Wh battery that supports 100W charging. The chassis is equipped with two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports supporting DisplayPort Alt mode for external displays. On the left side is a Thunderbolt 4 port along with a 3.5mm audio jack. The device features two 2W speakers and a fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi has announced the pricing for the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 in the Chinese market:
- Intel Core i5-1240P configuration, integrated graphics: $1,016
- Intel Core i5-1240P configuration, Nvidia Geforce MX550 GPU: $1,106
- Intel Core i7-1260P configuration, Nvidia Geforce RTX 2050 GPU: $1,300
Meanwhile, the 16-inch Xiaomi Book Pro version has its biggest difference in screen resolution, featuring 4K 16:10 (3840×2400 60Hz) instead of 2.8K 90Hz. The second difference is the 16-inch model’s battery is increased to 70Wh, ensuring longer usage time. The configuration details and appearance, including the 14.9mm thickness, are identical to the Book Pro 14. Internal components also remain the same, from the two i5 and i7 Alder Lake chip options, 16GB DDR5-5200 RAM, and PCIe 4.0 SSD.

- Intel Core i7-1260P configuration, Nvidia Geforce RTX 2050 GPU: $1,403
Both of these machines currently have no plans for sale in international markets.
