This article walks you through enabling Windows Copilot AI on Windows 11, though it does require a third-party tool.
What Is ViveTool, and Why Do You Need It to Enable Windows Copilot?
The third-party tool you need is ViveTool, software that can turn on hidden features or features limited to certain Windows users. Windows Copilot is one of those features: at the time of writing, it is limited to some Windows users running Windows 11 Dev Insider builds.
To go ahead and enable Windows Copilot, you can join the Windows Insider program and enroll your PC in the Dev Channel in a few simple steps.

Note: To enable Windows Copilot with ViveTool, you need Windows 11 Dev build 23493 or later installed.
How to Enable Windows Copilot With ViveTool
With ViveTool now installed, you're halfway through enabling Windows Copilot on your PC. All that's left is to enable a few IDs using Command Prompt and update the Microsoft Edge browser. Here is a step-by-step guide to turning on those feature IDs and updating the browser.
1. Open CMD with admin rights.
2. Enter the command below, then press Enter on your keyboard.
cd C:ViveToolNote: If you're unsure where to put the extracted ViveTool files, the most convenient choice is C:/ViveTool.
3. Copy and paste the following command, then press Enter.
vivetool /enable /id:44774629,44850061,44776738,42105254,416552364. Open Microsoft Edge, go to Help and Feedback, then click About Microsoft Edge.
5. Wait until the browser downloads and installs the update.
6. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
Note: You may have to restart your PC several times if you don't see the Windows Copilot logo on the Taskbar.
Now you can launch Windows Copilot on your PC by clicking its icon on the Taskbar or pressing Win + C on your keyboard. Windows Copilot opens on the right side of the screen. Try asking it to change your current Windows theme and watch the magic happen. Of course, Windows Copilot can do much more than change themes.
Note: Once Windows Copilot is available to everyone, you won't need ViveTool to enable it anymore. You'll be able to turn it on from the Taskbar page in the Settings app, where you'll find the Copilot toggle among the items on that page.
