Lenovo has officially unveiled two all-new ThinkPad models: the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16.
Both run on the AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 series platform with enhanced business features. Their design departs from earlier ThinkPads, with a haptic touchpad like the one on the Dell XPS 13 Plus and MacBook, and a webcam bump that rises above the lid's top edge.

The design, display, and finish of the ThinkPad Z-series are worth noting. The look breaks from the current ThinkPad lineup: instead of the traditional black block, these machines show more bare metal color. The ThinkPad Z13 has a 13.3" screen and the ThinkPad Z16 a 16" one. Both use a 16:10 aspect ratio and an IPS panel with 400nits brightness and 1920 x 1200 resolution, and there is an optional 2.8K OLED on the Z13 and 4K OLED on the Z16, both Dolby Vision certified.
On the Z-series, the 1080p webcam sits in a slight raised section right along the top edge. The Z13 keyboard extends out to the edges, while the Z16 has a more compact layout, with two large speaker strips on either side that promise good sound. Typing is expected to be as good as ThinkPad keyboards have always been.
The touchpad also stands out. It uses force-sensing technology that ThinkPad calls the Haptic ForcePad, and it measures 120mm. The palm rest is finished in glass and sits flush with the touchpad.
For ports, the Z13 has two USB-C ports and the Z16 has 3, all USB4. Lenovo also includes a 3.5mm jack and a fingerprint sensor on both, and the Z16 adds an SD card slot. For wireless, both offer Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, with optional 4G LTE Cat 16. The ThinkPad Z13 is 13.99mm thick, with a 50 Wh battery, and weighs 1.25kg. The Z16 is 15.8mm thick, with a 70 Wh battery, and weighs 1.97kg. Official pricing for both has not been announced.
