Recent leaks have revealed most of the key details regarding Nvidia’s RTX 5000 desktop graphics card series, but information on the mobile versions remains quite vague. New retail listings for upcoming Asus laptops have confirmed the corresponding memory, power consumption, and CPUs for the next-generation mobile GPUs.
As Nvidia and AMD prepare to launch new chips in the coming weeks, retailers and manufacturing partners have repeatedly leaked hardware surprises by listing products prematurely. The recent leak has provided crucial details for Nvidia’s entire next-generation laptop GPU lineup.
According to 2 Cent and several other retailers, Asus is preparing to launch many new ROG laptops in early 2025, most of which will be equipped with discrete RTX 5000 graphics cards. Previous reports revealed very little information regarding the memory and power consumption of each GPU, but a summary table of leaked retail information has provided a fairly comprehensive overview.

Like the mobile RTX 4090, the RTX 5090 will also feature 16GB of VRAM. However, the RTX 5080 will also be equipped with 16GB, an upgrade from the 12GB of the previous version. This amount was easily predictable from a ransomware leak targeting the Taiwanese laptop manufacturer Clevo in June, but that leak also mentioned unnamed 12GB and 8GB graphics cards, which can now be identified.
The RTX 5070 Ti is the only 12GB GPU in Nvidia’s new mobile product lineup. All lower models feature 8GB, including the entry-level RTX 5050, which is an upgrade from the 6GB of the RTX 4050. All RTX 5000 graphics cards, including the mobile 5050 and desktop 5060, utilize GDDR7 VRAM.
Furthermore, the two top-tier laptop GPUs consume a maximum of 175W, while the 5070 Ti uses 140W. Information regarding the power consumption of mid-range and low-end cards is not yet available, but the CEO of Chinese OEM Hasee stated in August that the 5060 only consumes 115W.
Additionally, upcoming Asus laptops will combine RTX 5000 cards with the latest CPUs from Intel and AMD, refuting previous reports that they would continue to use older Intel processors. Variants will include the company’s Core Ultra 9 285H, 285HX, and 275HX, along with AMD’s Ryzen 9 7945HX and 7940HX. Flagship products will be equipped with 2K 240Hz displays, while most other products will only feature 1080p resolution with similar refresh rates.
Meanwhile, AMD’s upcoming high-end APU, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, will debut on the Asus ROG Flow Z13 in 2025. The integrated GPU, with 40 RDNA 3.5 processing units, is paired with 32GB of RAM and a 13-inch 2K 180Hz display.
Nvidia is expected to announce the RTX 5000 graphics cards for both desktop and laptop at CES in January.
