How to Download and Install XMind on your Computer
Step 1: Access the XMind software download page.
Step 2: Select the version for your operating system to download the installation file to your computer.
Step 3: Open the downloaded installation file, and the software will begin the installation process on your computer.
Next, click Continue.

How to Draw Mind Maps with XMind
Step 1: In the main interface of the software, you will see various diagram structures including: Mind Map, Org Chart, Tree Chart, Timeline, Matrix, Fishbone. Then, you can select the type of diagram you want to use and click the Create button below.
Step 2: At the top corner of the diagram editor, you will see a toolbar with the following features:
- Topic: Add a new category (topic).
- Subtopic: Add a subcategory.
- Relationship: Show the connection between categories.
- Summary: Add a summary idea for the selected category.
- Boundary: Add a boundary line for the selected category.
- Insert: Insert annotations, add shapes, links, attachments, images, audio.
Step 3: Additionally, by clicking the Panel icon in the top right corner, you can also change the display for the selected category, such as: shape style, color, borders, font formatting, structure types…
Step 4: That’s not all; you can also insert icons related to the diagram you are designing.
